About Amelia Mars, M.A., LMFT
Amelia Mora Mars is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who brings a heartfelt, compassionate approach to her work with teens and adults facing the lasting effects of trauma. With a specialization in treating individuals impacted by adverse childhood experiences, sexual trauma, and significant life losses, Amelia has a gift for helping her clients navigate the emotional complexities of trauma recovery. As a mother of two daughters in law enforcement and a son in the military, Amelia’s personal experience with first responders and military personnel gives her a unique understanding of the struggles they face. Her deep empathy for those who serve is evident in the care and dedication she brings to her work.
Amelia’s personal journey with trauma and healing reached a pivotal point in 2017 when her son, who is on the autism spectrum, attempted suicide. This life-changing event led Amelia to explore ketamine therapy, which transformed her son’s life. Her son, Kenny, now shares his story as the Featured Patient at PointHealth, exemplifying the profound impact ketamine-assisted therapy can have on individuals and their families. Amelia is now a passionate advocate for Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), a practice that optimizes ketamine’s ability to help patients go beyond surface-level symptoms and address the deeper emotional pain that keeps them stuck.
In her practice, Amelia creates a safe, nurturing environment where patients can explore the roots of their pain, heal from past traumas, and rebuild their sense of self. She combines research-based techniques with a warm, holistic approach, ensuring that every client feels supported and empowered throughout their healing journey. Outside of her clinical work, Amelia is actively involved in mental health advocacy as a board member for Childhood Matters, a nonprofit that supports childhood mental health.
