Pain Management
Experience longer-lasting pain relief with fewer side effects through Ketamine therapy, a more effective and safer method than traditional methods.
Pain Conditions
Treatable With Ketamine
Chronic pain is more than just discomfort—it’s a life-altering condition that affects millions of Americans every day. Whether your pain stems from an injury or a medical condition, it can linger for months, even years, dramatically reducing your quality of life. Ketamine offers a powerful alternative to traditional pain management treatments by blocking the chemicals in your body that cause pain. Unlike narcotics, Ketamine infusions are highly effective and come with fewer risks. Plus, they also address mood disorders, like depression, that often accompany chronic pain.
COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME & REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DISORDER
Living with CRPS or RSD can be incredibly challenging, as these conditions often bring hypersensitivity, burning sensations, and persistent pain in your limbs. Ketamine works by inhibiting the release of pain-causing chemicals in your body. Patients often experience relief from CRPS symptoms for weeks, sometimes even months, after treatment.
LYME DISEASE
Lyme Disease, caused by bacteria transmitted through tick bites, can lead to a range of symptoms including rash, fatigue, joint pain, muscle aches, and headaches. While most patients find relief with antibiotics, about 20-30% continue to suffer from chronic pain. Ketamine offers a solution by blocking the brain receptors responsible for releasing inflammation-causing chemicals. This treatment not only reduces inflammation but also provides lasting pain relief, often for weeks or months.
MIGRAINES
Migraines can be so intense that they disrupt your daily life, making even simple tasks feel impossible. Ketamine has been shown to effectively reduce the intensity and frequency of migraines. It’s particularly useful for those whose migraine pain is resistant to other treatments. Ketamine also helps alleviate symptoms like blurred vision and treats depression, a condition commonly linked to chronic migraines. It’s safe for managing “breakthrough pain”—those sudden, severe pain flare-ups.
FIBROMYALGIA
- Fibromyalgia is a condition that brings chronic pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances, affecting both joints and muscles. Ketamine’s anesthetic properties make it highly effective in targeting physical pain. Additionally, it addresses the mood disorders often associated with fibromyalgia, such as depression. Compared to narcotics, Ketamine infusions offer a safer, more effective treatment for pain.Ketamine can improve PTSD symptoms in as little as two treatments.
- The positive effects of ketamine are often long-lasting.
- Ketamine is effective even for those who haven’t found relief with traditional antidepressants.
NEUROPATHIC PAIN
Neuropathic pain, often caused by nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system, can result in shooting or burning sensations, as well as tingling or numbness. Ketamine helps by inhibiting NMDA receptor-mediated responses in the nervous system, which reduces pain. It also alleviates the depression commonly linked to chronic neuropathic pain, offering relief from symptoms like burning, tingling, and numbness.

FAQ's
WHAT IS KETAMINE?
Ketamine is a well-established anesthetic that hospitals have used for over 50 years during surgeries for children, adults, and even animals. Recently, it’s been recognized for its effectiveness in managing conditions like chronic pain, including fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), as well as mood disorders like depression and PTSD. At low doses, ketamine can provide significant relief. The dosage is tailored to your individual needs to ensure the best possible outcome.
HOW MANY INFUSIONS WILL I NEED?
For chronic pain management, most patients start with a series of six infusions. Unlike mood disorder treatments, which typically last around 50 minutes, pain management sessions are longer, lasting between 2 to 3 hours each. After the initial series, you may need booster infusions depending on your pain levels and how you respond to the treatment.
IF KETAMINE WORKS, WILL I BE ON IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?
No, Ketamine treatment isn’t a lifelong commitment. Many patients experience substantial pain relief with Ketamine infusions, which can significantly improve their quality of life. The goal is to provide relief that lasts, reducing or eliminating the need for long-term medication use.
HOW QUICKLY CAN I BE SEEN?
We require all patients to have a consultation first to determine the best treatment plan for them. Please contact us as soon as possible to schedule your consultation. After your assessment, we’ll book your treatment at one of our convenient locations.
WILL THE INSURANCE COVER THE TREATMENT?
Some insurance carriers may cover our services. We’ll work closely with you to explore the best financial options available.
WILL I BE INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT?
All treatments at Point Ketamine are outpatient. We ensure a private and comfortable environment to maintain your confidentiality.
CAN I WORK AFTER?
It’s not recommended to return to work immediately after your treatments. You should be able to resume your regular activities the following day.
HOW LONG WILL I BE OUT?
You’ll stay awake during your infusions. Although Ketamine is traditionally an anesthetic, the doses we administer are at sub-anesthetic levels. You might feel a bit drowsy during and after your session, but it should pass relatively quickly.
Caution: The treatment may not be effective or appropriate for all patients, additional side effects may occur, and all patients should talk to their physician to learn more about the treatment and potential risks.
